RECIPE IDEAS:
Broccolini is a cross between standard and Chinese broccoli. It features longer stalks, small florets, and a few leaves, all of which is edible. Unlike tradional broccoli, broccolini requires little prep work and cooks quickly. It has a mild, almost sweet flavor and is very high in Vitamin C.
AVAILABILITY:
June - November
STORAGE TIPS:
Store unwashed in a plastic bag in a high humidity crisper drawer of your refrigerator and eat within a few days.
CULINARY TIPS:
The whole stalk is edible, though sometimes the thicker, woodier end needs to be trimmed (about the bottom ½ inch)
Steam or sauté
Toss with olive oil and grill
Cut into pieces and add into stir fry
