RECIPE IDEAS:
Salad turnips (or Hakurei) are sweet and earthy, with a crisp texture similar to an apple. If you're looking for something new to try, this is the vegetable for you. We've never had someone come back and tell us they didn't like it!
AVAILABILITY:
May - December
STORAGE TIPS:
Turnips should be removed from their greens for storage (leaving greens on any root vegetable draws moisture from the root, making them lose firmness quickly). Store unwashed roots loose or in a bag in your crisper drawer. Greens should be stored in a plastic bag in the refrigerator.
CULINARY TIPS:
Slice raw right into your salad
Sautee the greens for a tasty side dish
Roast with other root vegetables
