RECIPE IDEAS:
Part of the “holy trinity” of Creole and Cajun cuisine and one-third of the French mirepoix, celery is a staple in many soups and stews. Generally considered in a supporting role, the bright herbaceous flavor of celery lends itself to being the star of a dish as well. Celery is high in calcium, vitamin C, and fiber.
AVAILABILITY:
July - December
STORAGE TIPS:
If leaves are attached, remove and store separately. According to Cook’s Illustrated, the best way to store celery is wrapped in aluminum foil.
CULINARY TIPS:

Make a refreshing smoothie with cucumbers and pineapple
Add celery leaves to any salad
Freeze extra leaves and save for chicken or vegetable stock
