ONIONS

Onions are one of the most common vegetables and are a foundation for many recipes. Spring onions have a sweeter taste and are often sold with their greens attached. Yellow onions have a good balanced flavor while red onions tend to be milder.

STORAGE TIPS:
Store in a cool, dark place with good air circulation such as a pantry. Onions should last for several months in proper conditions.

CULINARY TIPS:

  • Caramelize and use in a tart

  • Quick pickle for a crunchy sandwich topping

  • Add to skewers on the grill

  • Thinly slice raw and add to a salad
